This term at St. Teresa’s Catholic Primary School, our children have been learning essential skills to keep themselves and others safe.

We began with an informative session from the Bishop Line Community Rail Partnership Education Officer, who taught pupils about the dangers of railway lines and the important steps to stay safe when using rail services.

Next, we welcomed the Fire Brigade, who demonstrated the lifesaving technique of ‘stop, drop, and roll’ – a vital skill to protect ourselves in the event of a fire.

To complete our safety focus, pupils took part in Restart a Heart training, learning how to perform CPR and use a defibrillator. These practical skills could one day help save a life, and we are proud of our children for embracing this important learning.

At St. Teresa’s, we believe that safety education is key to empowering our pupils and building confidence in real-life situations.
