Our Early Years children had a fantastic time celebrating Shrove Tuesday in school today!
The children enjoyed a hands‑on cooking session, carefully measuring ingredients such as flour and milk and mixing everything together to make their pancake batter. They worked brilliantly in small groups, helping one another stir, pour and prepare the mixture.
Once the pancakes were cooked, the real fun began! The children loved choosing their toppings — with options like lemon juice, chocolate sauce and other treats on the table — before happily tucking into their creations. There were lots of enthusiastic pancake‑holding and stretching moments as they explored the textures and enjoyed every bite.
It was a lovely way to learn about Shrove Tuesday while developing practical skills, teamwork and confidence in the kitchen.
