Our Year 6 pupils at St Teresa’s Catholic Primary School, Darlington have had an incredible start to their residential visit at Ford Castle, packed with adventure, laughter and unforgettable experiences.
Day One: Adventure and Laughter
The trip got off to a fantastic start with plenty of sunshine as pupils took part in a range of exciting activities, including:
- Trapeze challenges
- Aeroball
- Problem-solving tasks
The evening brought even more fun with a silent disco — which, despite its name, certainly wasn’t quiet! The children filled the castle with laughter and sing‑alongs, creating a brilliant atmosphere.
After a full and energetic day, everyone was well fed, happily exhausted, and looking forward to the adventures still to come.
Day Two: Courage, Energy and Team Spirit
The second day continued the excitement with even more thrilling activities:
- Zip wire
- Archery
- Laser Tag
- Jacob’s Ladder
- The challenging Leap of Faith trapeze
We were lucky with the weather, with only a short spell of rain before dinner, and the children showed fantastic bravery and determination throughout.
Even after a full day of adventure, there was still energy left for football and ball games, showing just how much the pupils are embracing every moment.
A Truly Memorable Experience
This residential visit has already been a wonderful opportunity for pupils to build confidence, resilience and friendships, all while creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Well done, Year 6 — what an amazing adventure!
