St Teresa’s Primary School in Darlington is celebrating the creativity of its pupils, as Class 6 recently enjoyed an engaging art session focused on oil pastels.

The lesson gave children the opportunity to experiment with a range of techniques, helping them develop both their artistic skills and confidence in creative expression.

Exploring Techniques and Materials

During the session, pupils worked hard to explore how oil pastels can be used in different ways. They experimented with:

  • Blending colours to create new shades and effects
  • Using water and oil to manipulate the pastels
  • Trying different approaches to achieve varied textures and finishes

This hands-on experience allowed pupils to better understand how materials can be adapted to create unique results.

Creativity and Enthusiasm on Display

Throughout the activity, it was clear that the children were fully engaged. Their enthusiasm for experimenting and trying new techniques shone through, resulting in a wide range of imaginative and expressive artwork.

Staff at St Teresa’s praised the pupils for their effort, creativity, and willingness to explore new ideas.

Well done to Class 6 for such a successful and inspiring art session! 🎨
