Our School Motto is:
‘Let us do the little things well today’
The "Little Way" is a simple spiritual approach to life that seeks to do ordinary things with extraordinary love.
St. Teresa decided that everything she did each day – especially the small boring tasks like scrubbing the floors – she would do with great love. Teresa would complete her daily tasks willingly and cheerfully, and she would show great love to all she met. She called this her ‘Little Way’. The Little Way is a very simple idea, but it is not as easy as it sounds! It can be quite a challenge! Can you imagine not complaining when you are asked to wash-up? Or not complaining when somebody cooks you a meal you don’t like. Or being kind to someone who isn’t kind to you. Teresa wrote about her ‘Little Way’ in notebooks. She explained how the ‘Little Way’ taught her to be patient and humble, and how Jesus helped her to see how love and kindness can change the world!
St Teresa’s “Little Way” reminds us that anyone can become a saint that we are called to do our best and to strive to make a difference. We do the little things well, for example, by praying for others in need, by being helpful, showing gratitude, through reaching out to others, by making acts of kindness and be demonstrating forgiveness.
At St. Teresa’s, we do all that we do with love. We embrace with love and care all children entrusted to us.
