Year 5 pupils at St Teresa's Catholic Primary School, Darlington, enjoyed a fantastic day out at Beamish Museum, taking part in a range of exciting activities and learning experiences.
During their visit, the children learned about traditional Romany Gypsy camps, gaining an insight into the history, culture and way of life of travelling communities. They also enjoyed riding on traditional fairground attractions and listening to Irish Traveller songs, helping to bring the past to life.
One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to travel on the Steam Elephant. Year 5 were delighted to be the first children in over 10 years to experience this unique journey.
The visit provided a wonderful opportunity for pupils to learn outside the classroom, explore history in a hands-on way and create lasting memories with their friends.
Well done to Year 5 for representing St Teresa's so brilliantly throughout the day!
